Our Materials
Recycled. Regenerated. Responsible.
Our swimsuits are crafted from rescued and regenerated fabrics, giving ocean-bound materials a second life while dramatically reducing environmental waste. By transforming what once threatened our seas into something beautiful and long-lasting, sustainability becomes a statement of style.
Our swimwear and activewear collections are made from recycled textiles, with many pieces composed of up to 85% recycled polyester yarn. Every fabric we use is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, meaning it is rigorously tested to be free from harmful substances, gentle on your skin and gentle on the planet.
Luxury should never come at planet Earth’s expense.
Our Production Process
Small Batch, Big Intention.
We embrace small-batch production as a conscious decision. A slower, more thoughtful way of creating that prioritizes quality over quantity. By producing in limited runs rather than mass manufacturing, we reduce excess inventory, minimize waste, and ensure each piece receives the attention it deserves.
Our production is designed for minimal environmental impact, working closely with carefully sourced partners who align with our eco-conscious values. Every suit is crafted with precision, intention, and genuine care.
Ethical Manufacturing
We collaborate with like-minded factories that uphold rigorous ethical standards and share our sustainability-first values. Our primary production partner maintains a proudly 75% female-led workforce, empowering women through meaningful employment, leadership opportunities, and skill development.
We aim to combine eco-conscious materials with artisanal craftsmanship. Our commitment to fair labor practices ensures that every Salty Mermaid piece is made with dignity and respect.

Salty Swap Program
From Initiative to Ongoing Impact.
What began as a month-long initiative has evolved into an ongoing part of our sustainability efforts. Through Salty Swap, we accept gently used swimwear from any brand and offer a gift card toward a new Salty Mermaid purchase.
By creating a more thoughtful path for pre-loved pieces, we’re able to help reduce waste through donation or ethical recycling whenever possible. It’s a lasting step toward more responsible practices and a more
circular future for swimwear.
Our Packaging
Closing The Loop.
Every order is shipped in zipper tote bags crafted from leftover swimwear fabric, giving new life to textiles that would otherwise go to waste. Instead of discarding excess yardage, we transform it into something functional, reusable, and uniquely Salty.
All of our packaging is recyclable or compostable and designed with the planet in mind. From recycled kraft mailers to biodegradable tags, every detail reflects our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint.

Water Conservation
Protecting The Waters.
To preserve the oceans that define our brand, we rely on digital printing. An innovative process that uses only a fraction of the water required by traditional wet printing.
This method allows us to create vibrant, high-definition designs without excessive runoff, harsh chemicals, or heavy water consumption.
By choosing digital printing, we significantly reduce environmental impact while maintaining the bold, elevated aesthetic that defines Salty Mermaid.

Giving Back
Beyond The Beach.
Giving back flows through everything we do. We partner with organizations that protect wildlife, restore ecosystems, and support human health.
From The Toucan Ranch and The Rhino Rescue to animal adoptions through Oceana.org, our mission extends far beyond fashion. Recently, 100% of sales from our pink swim collection were donated to breast cancer care and research through The Shula Fund.
